Core Identity

You don't chase goals.
You become someone.

An identity is the person you're building β€” "An athlete", "A calm mind", "A writer". It's the foundation everything else in the app is built on. Start here.

πŸͺž
Identity before habit
Goals ask "what do I want?" An identity asks "who am I becoming?" Decide the person first β€” the habits follow naturally.
πŸ—³οΈ
Every action is a vote
Each habit you complete casts a vote β€” a piece of proof β€” for the identity it belongs to. Small, but it counts.
🧱
A body of evidence
One vote rarely decides anything. A stack of them does. Build evidence until being this person is simply true.
♾️
No perfection needed
A rough week doesn't erase who you are. Identities hold their history β€” they don't reset.
An identity,
not a goal.

An identity is a self-concept you're building β€” not "I want to run" but "I am an Athlete." That one shift changes how every habit feels: you're no longer working toward a finish line, you're proving who you already are.

Each identity has three things: a title (the "I am a…" statement), an icon, and a color. It's the top-level unit of the whole app β€” every habit, every vote, and every streak hangs off an identity.

  • A title β€” the person you're becoming, in your words
  • An icon & color β€” chosen from ~47 icons and 20 colors
  • The top-level unit β€” habits and proof attach to it
  • Hold as many as you like β€” you're not just one thing

Declare it:
"I am a…"

You create an identity by finishing one sentence. Tap "New Identity" from the Identities tab (or set up your first one during onboarding) and a sheet slides up with a single field: "I am a…" β€” a Runner, a Reader, a Calm Mind.

In the same sheet you add the first habits that will prove it, then pick an icon and color to make it yours. The title can be up to 60 characters, and an identity needs at least one habit β€” so you declare who you are and how you'll prove it in one go.

  • "I am a…" β€” name the identity (up to 60 characters)
  • Add habits β€” at least one; daily or weekly goals
  • Icon & color β€” ~47 icons, 20 colors (amber by default)
  • Two ways in β€” the Identities tab, or first-run onboarding

Create Identity
Habits are how
you prove it.

An identity on its own is just a statement. Habits are how you back it up. Every habit belongs to exactly one identity, and a single identity can hold a whole stack of them.

When you complete a habit, you cast a vote toward its identity β€” a small, dated piece of proof that you showed up as that person today. The Athlete's morning run, the Reader's ten pages: each one is evidence filed under who you're becoming.

  • One identity per habit β€” every habit knows which "you" it serves
  • Many habits per identity β€” build a stack of small proofs
  • Completion = a vote β€” each log is a piece of evidence
  • Daily or weekly β€” each habit tracks at its own rhythm

Votes don't disappear β€” they accumulate. Over weeks and months each identity gathers a growing record of proof, and its passport card turns that record into numbers you can see.

Two of those numbers are streaks, counted in weeks. Current is how many weeks in a row, right up to now, you've kept the identity strong; Best is your longest run ever. A week "counts" when you complete 80% or more of that identity's habits. Miss a week and Current resets β€” but Best stays on the card as a record to chase.

  • Proof stacks up β€” every vote is kept as dated evidence
  • Current streak β€” consecutive recent weeks at 80%+
  • Best streak β€” your longest run, kept even after a slip
  • Counted in weeks β€” direction matters more than a perfect day

An identity you're stepping back from can be archived from its Manage sheet. It leaves your home screen and active list, but every vote, habit, and streak is preserved β€” restore it later from the collapsible "Archived" section and it comes back exactly as you left it.

If you're truly finished with an identity, the Manage sheet also offers Delete β€” a guarded option that removes the identity and all its proof for good. Archive is the gentle pause; delete is permanent.

  • Archive = pause β€” hidden from home, all history kept
  • One-tap restore β€” bring it back with its full record intact
  • Delete = forever β€” removes the identity and its evidence
  • Both live under "Manage β†’" β€” on the Identities tab
